Terms of Service

Folix helps you build and share your professional presence. Depending on your plan, this includes portfolio websites, resumes, cover letters, visitor analytics, custom domains, source code export, and Folix AI, our writing and building assistant. Some features, like link-in-bio pages, may be offered as previews or waitlists before they launch.

We keep improving Folix, so features may be added, changed, or retired over time. When we remove a paid feature, we'll try to tell you ahead of time.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, and able to agree to these Terms. If you use Folix on behalf of a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these Terms for it.

You're responsible for:

• Giving accurate sign-up information and keeping your email address current
• Keeping your password and the accounts you sign in with, like Google or GitHub, secure
• Everything that happens under your account

Tell us right away at hi@folix.io if you think someone else has access to your account.

Usernames

Your username becomes part of your free address, like yourname.folix.io. We may reclaim usernames that impersonate others, infringe trademarks, or are held without being used.

You own your content. That includes the text, images, files, and resumes you upload or create on Folix, and the drafts Folix AI writes for you.

To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, format, and display your content. We only use this license to operate and improve Folix for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time or where the law requires us to keep them.

Public content

Published portfolios and resumes with a public link are visible to anyone on the internet, and search engines may index them. Only publish what you're comfortable sharing.

Uploads

Only upload files you have the right to use. When you upload a resume or other document, you confirm the personal information in it is yours or that you have permission to share it.

You may not use Folix to create, upload, or publish:

• Illegal content, or content that promotes violence, hate, or harassment
• Sexually explicit content
• Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy
• False or misleading information, such as invented qualifications or impersonation of another person
• Phishing pages, malware, spam, or anything designed to deceive visitors

You also may not:

• Try to break, overload, scrape, or get around the security or limits of Folix
• Use automated tools to create accounts or abuse free plans and AI allowances
• Copy, resell, or rebuild our templates, interface, or platform as a competing product

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.

Folix AI drafts portfolios, resumes, cover letters, and other text from the information you provide. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or similar to text produced for other people.

• Review and edit every draft before you publish it or send it to anyone
• You're responsible for making sure your resumes and letters are truthful
• Don't submit other people's personal information unless you have their permission

Folix AI is built for career and presence tasks and may decline unrelated requests. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of messages and uploads, which resets at the start of each month and doesn't roll over.

Starter is free. Creator and Studio are paid subscriptions billed monthly or yearly. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record, so their terms also apply to your purchase.

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel
• You can cancel at any time from Billing. You keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for
• We may change prices with advance notice. Changes apply from your next billing period
• Taxes may be added depending on where you live

Refunds

Payments are generally non-refundable, but we review requests case by case. This doesn't affect any refund rights you have under the law where you live.

Plan limits and downgrades

Each plan has limits, such as the number of portfolios, resumes, cover letters, analytics history, and AI usage. If you downgrade, your content stays in your account, but items above the new limits may be unpublished or become read-only until you upgrade or remove them. The free Starter plan shows a Folix badge on published portfolios, which you may not hide or remove.

Every account gets a free subdomain on folix.io. On plans that include custom domains, you're responsible for owning the domain, renewing it, and setting up DNS correctly. We may disconnect a domain that points to content breaking these Terms.

On plans that include code export, you may use, change, and host the exported project for your own site or your clients' sites. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish the exported templates themselves, or use them to offer a competing website builder or template marketplace.

Folix, our logo, templates, designs, and software belong to us and our licensors. These Terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using Folix as intended. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

You can stop using Folix at any time and ask us to delete your account from Settings. Cancel any paid plan first. Deleting your account permanently removes your portfolios, resumes, cover letters, and AI chats, and takes your published sites offline.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, put other users or Folix at risk, don't pay, or that we're required to close by law. Where it's appropriate, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Folix is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it fast and reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. We don't guarantee any particular result, such as getting a job or a client. Keep your own copies of anything important.

To the extent the law allows, Folix isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data, or for problems caused by third-party services or domains. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some countries don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

These Terms are governed by the laws in force in Lagos, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled by the courts of Lagos. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protections given to you by the laws of the country where you live.

We may update these Terms as Folix changes. For significant changes, we'll email you or show a notice in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Folix after that, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
